Full form of CAT

CAT stands for Common Admission Test. This is the most popular exam among the entrance exams for Post-Graduate Management courses. CAT is also considered one of the toughest exams in India. The test is conducted by one of the IIM’S every year on the basis of a rotation policy which they have. CAT scores are accepted in all IIM’S and many other Management colleges in India to select the best-suited candidate for their college.

Students from all around India who are Interested in Post-Graduate Management courses register in CAT every year, in 2018, 2,40,338 students applied for the test, and every year the number of applicants increases by a huge number.

Eligibility

   >     Bachelor’s Degree or any Professional degree(CA/CS/ICWA) with minimum percent marks or equivalent CGPA in Graduation (from any field).

·        The Degree should be from a University/Institution which is recognized and approved by the governing body of Education in India i.e. the University/Institution should come under the act of parliament or pronounced to be considered as a University under section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the ministry of HRD, Govt. of India.

·        Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and the individuals who have finished degree prerequisites and are anticipating results can also apply.

Exam Pattern

The Common Admission Test (CAT) utilizes multiple versions, of the test. Therefore there are two types of scores involved: a raw score and a scaled score.

The raw score is calculated section-wise based on (+) 3 points for a correct answer (–) 1 for a wrong answer and no marking for unanswered questions. The raw scores are then adjusted through a process called equating, and then finally the equated raw scores are placed on a common scale or metric to ensure appropriate interpretation of the scores and this process is called scaling.

 

Should know points about CAT

·        It is a computer-based test which consists of 100 objective type questions.

·        There are three sections in the test mainly:

o   Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC)

o   Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DI & LR)

o   Quantitative Ability (QA)

It is expected that the number of questions in each section may vary.

·        A few questions in each section will be non-MCQ type questions (TITA-Type in The Answer).

·        Each question carries 3 marks and for every wrong answer, the negative marking is 1.

·        No negative marking for non-MCQ questions.

·        60 minutes of time will be allotted for each section.

·        The test takers cannot switch between sections or move to the next section before the given time of that section finishes.

·        The order of questions is the same for all the candidates.

·        Percentile rankings are provided for individual sections as well as for the overall exam score.

 

Full form of XAT

 XAT stands for Xavier Aptitude Test which is conducted by Xavier Management School- Xavier Labor Relations Institute Jamshedpur. The test is conducted at National level and XAT scores are applicable in 800 colleges across India for admission in Management courses.

Eligibility

·        Bachelor’s degree of any discipline from a recognized University/Institution.

·        Final Year students are also eligible to apply for the test.

Application Form Fee

·        Rs.1700/- for all categories.

·        The late fee is Rs.2000/-

·        The fee can be paid through online mode i.e debit card, credit card, and net banking.

Exam Pattern and should know points about XAT

·        XAT is an online computer based exam.

·        It consists of 100 questions.

·        Essay writing which has been a part of the examination till now has been eliminated in 2019.

·        The questions are MCQ type and each MCQ is followed by 5 answer questions.

·        Each question carries 1 mark.

·        For each wrong answer in part on the negative marking is 0.25.

·        No negative marking for part 2.

Full Form of CMAT

CMAT stands for Common Management Admission Test which was conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) till 2018 but from 2019 if will be conducted by NTA, National Testing Agency. It is a national level test and around 1 lakh students take the exam for admission in AICTE approved Universities or Colleges.

Eligibility

·        Candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum aggregate of 50% in graduation for general category and 45% in case of reserved categories.

·        Final year students are eligible to apply for the exam

·        There is no bar for age i.e. there is no age limit to apply.

·        Candidate must be a citizen of India.

Application Form Fee

·        For General and OBC Rs.1400 + bank charges.

·        For SC/ST/PD/Female Rs.700 +bank charges.

·        The fees can be paid through debit card, credit card, and net banking.

Full Form of MAT

MAT stands for Management Aptitude Test. It is a national level exam conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA) for admission in Management courses in colleges in India. MAT score is accepted in over 600 colleges in India and the test is held four times in a year i.e. February, May, September, and December. It is conducted in both online and offline mode.

Eligibility

·        The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline or a professional degree(CA/CS/ICWA)

·        There is no age bar, candidates of any age can apply

·        Final year graduation students can also apply

Full Form of GMAT

GMAT stands for Graduate Management Aptitude Test which is a computer-based online test which is conducted by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) and id held multiple times a year. The exams scores are applicable in approximately 2300 B-Schools and 7000 Programs.

Eligibility

·        Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years old but if you belong to the age group of 13-17 you have to get written permission of your parent or guardian prior to scheduling the exam.

·        The candidates are not permitted to take the test for more than 8 times in total and not more than 5 times one year.

·        If you want to take the test again you must wait for at least 16 days after you have given the exam. If you have previously achieved a perfect score of 800 you have to at least wait for five years to reappear for the test.

Application/Registration Fee

·        Rs.17826.25/-  ($250) for registration

·        If you want to reschedule your exam the fee is Rs.4262.7/- ($60) after 7 days before the appointment

·        If you want to reschedule within 7 days of appointment Rs.17826.25 ($250)

·       If you wish to cancel the exam you will receive Rs.5683.6/- ($80) in a refund.

·       The exam fee can be paid through:

Should know things about GMAT 2019

·        The test duration is 3.5 hours.

·        The result of your test will be shown you unofficially when you are done with each section.

·        The aspirants cannot appear in the GMAT exam, more than once in 16 days.

Full Form of NMAT/NMIMS

NMAT stands for NMIMS (Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies) Management Aptitude Test and is conducted by the Graduate Management Council (GMAC). Approximately 88000 students appear for this exam every year.

Eligibility  

·        The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University/Institution with a minimum aggregate of 50% in graduation.

·        Final year students can also apply for the exam provided that they fulfill the desired criteria within the given time.

Application Form Fee

·        Rs.1900/- + applicable taxes  is the registration fee

·        Rs.2000/- + applicable taxes for a late fee

·        It is an online computer based test

·        Each section is individually timed the candidates must attempt these sections within the allotted time

Full Form of GRE

GRE stands for Graduate Record Examination and is considered the world’ largest assessment program for Graduate Admissions. More than half million individuals appear for the test in over 1000 test centers and across 160 countries every year and scores are accepted at thousands of graduate program around the world for masters and doctoral programs.

Eligibility

·        Graduation from a recognized University/Institution

·        There are no such eligibility criteria for the exam anyone regardless of age and qualification can apply for the exam the only thing one should be concerned about is passport as the original passport is needed at the time of the exam.
