Shiv Nadar University is a multi-disciplinary, student-centric, research-focused university offering a full range of academic programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level. SNU's multi-disciplinary curriculum provides students a strong foundation in disciplines in the humanities and social sciences, natural sciences, technology and engineering studies, communications and management, while enabling them to gain mastery of a subject of their choosing. Located on a 286-acre campus in India's National Capital Region, SNU is a private philanthropic institution established by the Shiv Nadar Foundation in 2011 through an act of the State of Uttar Pradesh. As a consequence of the economic problems in India and many parts of the world, over the past few years the field of management education in general has come in for severe criticism. In a sense, the relevance of management education is increasingly being questioned. The reported closing down or imminent closure of many stand- alone management schools in the country point to a declining interest in MBA education. Nevertheless, the School of Management and Entrepreneurship (SME) at the Shiv Nadar University (SNU) strongly believes what the country and the world need in these difficult times are leader-managers who can lead their organizations in uncertain, hyper-competitive and hostile environments and who are entrepreneurial, principled and caring. The University's mission is to help students acquire and develop knowledge, skills, and leadership qualities relevant in the 21st Century and beyond.
