The syllabus of XAT 2020 exam is vital for any test taker who wants to crack the XAT exam. XLRI Jamshedpur does not officially release the XAT exam syllabus, therefore an estimated XAT 2020 syllabus has been provided here by our experts for XAT exam aspirants. According to the XAT 2020 syllabus, the exam is divided into four sections namely Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, Verbal & Logical Reasoning, Decision Making, and General Knowledge. With just few weeks left for the XAT 2020 exam, candidates are advised to make the most of their preparation. XAT 2020 will be held on January 5th 2020 and the XAT 2020 admit card will be available anytime soon from today onwards.

Here in this article, we bring to you a comprehensive XAT 2020 syllabus considering previous year's trend. Candidates are recommended to go through the XAT syllabus for reference purpose.

  • XAT Syllabus 2020 for Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation (QA & DI): There are 15 topics of 27 marks. The difficulty level of this section is considered always high. An accuracy of 70% is considered good.
  • XAT Syllabus 2020 for Verbal & Logical Ability (VA & LR): There are 7 important topics and the section can have moderate-high difficulty level questions. About 26 questions are expected this year.
  • XAT Syllabus 2020 for Decision Making (DM): 22 questions are expected from this section. 
  • XAT 2020 GK Syllabus: The section always has a moderate difficulty level as questions.

XAT Marking Scheme

XAT 2020 will have negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. And there’ll be deduction of 0.5 marks for more than 8 un-attempted questions. There will be no negative marking in General Knowledge section, but the scores of this section won’t be considered while calculation XAT score.

Important Points about XAT Exam Pattern 2020

  • There is no sectional time limit, so the candidate will be able to apply their own strategy to solve the question paper.
  • The candidates will be allowed to move back and forth between questions.
  • XAT 2020 General Knowledge section will be dominated by current affairs and news from the business and political world, with around seven questions related to international political crisis. Some questions will be of conventional GK, including personalities, events, history, awards, science, etc. 
  • Do not carry any stationary things, bags, handbags, paper, printed (or composed material), mobile phone, ear phone, microphone, pager, calculator, camera, recorder or any such electronic thing along with you inside the exam hall.
  • Inside the exam hall, candidates must sit at the computer system assigned to them. If found sitting elsewhere they will be disqualified.
  • Don't forget to carry two copies of XAT admit card and one of your photo IDs issued by the Government of India to the examination center.
  • Reach your respective XAT 2020 exam center at least an hour before the reporting time.
