The Joint Entrance Examination Main is a national-level undergraduate entrance exam conducted for admission into engineering and architecture programs across India. Commonly known as JEE Main, it is held primarily in online (computer-based) mode, although certain sections like drawing tests for architecture may include offline components. The exam falls under the category of undergraduate engineering entrance examinations and serves as a gateway to some of the country’s most prestigious institutions. Through JEE Main scores, candidates can secure admission to National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other Government Funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs), along with various state and private engineering colleges. Additionally, JEE Main also acts as the qualifying exam for JEE Advanced, which is required for admission into the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
